On behalf of the staff and myself, I would like to welcome you as
a patient in our dental office, and introduce you to our office
policies and philosophy.
We pride ourselves in making dentistry a
pleasant experience. As patients, you are "stockholders" in our
practice, and we want you to feel comfortable during your dental visits.
Please let us know what we can do to make your dental experience
more relaxing.
My practice is directed towards preventive
and restorative dentistry. Bonding has revolutionized dentistry.
When a restoration is bonded, the tooth becomes stronger and
esthetically looks like a brand new tooth! In this practice, teeth
needing "fillings" or "cavities" will receive bonded restorations.
I am confident that you will be satisfied with the results. Concerning
dental treatment, whatever is recommended is based upon what I would
recommend for myself or a member of my family. The primary concern
is retaining the natural teeth and restoring them to their natural state.
Please be at your initial appointment 30 minutes
early. Debbie, our Office Manager, will take this time to review your health
history and introduce you to our office policies. Also if you have any
special concerns, Debbie can address these at this time. Then you will
meet Angela, our hygienist, who will clean your teeth and take the
neccessary x-rays. If time allows, you will then have a thorough
new patient exam. At that time further treatment will be discussed and
financial arrangements can be made. There is a $100.00 new patient charge that
is applied to your account to establish credit with our office and to cover
any deductible amount applied to your services. If your visit is covered
by insurance, a refund will be issued to you.
If the visit is for your child's first appointment,
please tell them that Angela "wants to take you for a ride in her chair and
count your teeth." In the absence of any noticable problems, the best age
to bring your child is between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. However, cleaning
should begin from the time of eruption of the first teeth with a gauze
swab and later with a child's toothbrush. If your child might require
orthodontcs, the records can be taken at this office at age 8. In case of
a cross bite, the child can be treated when the first molars erupt.
Please download our new patient forms and HIPPA.
Bring it with you on your first visit. Also, if you have dental insurance, please
bring your completed card and signed forms along with your insurance card.
One important request we have is to refrain from
smoking 1 hour before any appointment time with us.
Our office has a library of information covering the
many aspects of dentistry. We feel the more informed you become the more
appreciation you will have for dentistry.
Thank you for having trust and confidence in our practice.
Sincerely,
John R. Schuster D.D.S. and Staff
